Some Facts

Most Tanzanian villages have large areas of crop land. (Dawar has 3,000 acres, Upper Kiteti has 5,000 acres) Many villages also have large areas of unused land.

If they can increase their yield by 10 bags per acre, (quite possible), over 3,000 acres this would bring US$ 600,000 extra into the village every year! Go figure.... All the big concerns around providing Food Security, Education, Basic Services etc will be met, and best of all, the young people will see there is a future in the village.

Each machine can plant 1,000 acres per month. (more if they worked nights) Both these villages can usually plant two crops per year, there is also a large variety of crops they can grow, so they can plant for about 4 months! It all adds up to huge economic potential in these dry land areas.

Our Plan

We are working in two village areas. Upper Kiteti and Dawar Village (above).
